Travel Money Belts And Travel Security
48Travel Money Belts And Travel Security
Travel money belts are still a good way to carry cash. They're common, and thieves know of them, but it isn't easy to tell if your belt has a hidden compartment, and it isn't easy for a robber to get at it quickly. It is a good way to carry SOME of your cash when you travel. Here are some more ways.
Losing Money In An Ecuadorian Disco
Travel gets me thinking of ways to hide money. I had the idea that a hundred dollars, wrapped up in an ace bandage on my leg, would be safer than in money belts. It worked for ten days on our trip to Ecuador, until we went dancing. The cash danced to its own tune, which I didn't even notice until morning. The lesson is to wrap it up tight, or don't go dancing.

See YOu.
Cool idea! I always like making sure I've got the money close to me rather than in my pockets where it can fall out or even worse, holding it in a ruck sack or something since it could always be taken out your hands. At first I laughted at the idea but the more I think about it, the more of a good idea I think it is. At the moment I'm travelling in Kolkata, west bengal and it's so safe and peaceful here. But I know if I forgot to pick up my ruck sack i might not see it again!

Good information in this hub... I would say that keeping a small amount of cash in a zip type wallet is another good way to deter a thief, as it becomes their focus...while your main cash can be somewhere else safe.
Pick pockets and other not so nice people are opportunists and will look for a destration to get to what they want. I will be writing a hub on some of the incidents that I have heard about while travelling for a year.
Good Idea. Never thought of where to put my money-besides just taking along my bank card. I'm gong to florida in Feb which I booked from my own Travel Site www.ytbtravel.com/7m7
Simple yet still effective nowadays.

Great ideas! A friend of mine kept cash in a bag pinned inside her bra. A revealing dress might be a problem, though.
